The Ara Tūhono – Pūhoi to Warkworth motorway extends the Northern Motorway (SH1) from Johnstones Hill Tunnels to north of Warkworth, improving safety, connectivity, and resilience between Tāmaki Makaurau and Te Tai Tokerau. Delivered under a Public Private Partnership (PPP), the project enhances regional economic potential by improving freight efficiency and access to key markets. Separating local and through traffic, it reduces congestion and supports future growth.
