SH16 Lincoln to Westgate Upgrade

The SH16 Lincoln to Westgate Upgrade is a key component of Auckland’s Western Ring Route, aimed at improving traffic capacity, safety, and resilience along State Highway 16. The project involved widening the highway, upgrading intersections, and enhancing stormwater infrastructure to accommodate growing traffic demand between Lincoln Road and Westgate. Delivered under Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, the upgrade supports better connectivity for commuters and freight while improving motorway efficiency in the northwestern corridor.

Project Involvement

• Traffic and Transport Engineering Advisory – Provided technical insights on road widening, lane configurations, and intersection upgrades to enhance traffic flow and safety.

• Construction Monitoring and Quality Assurance – Conducted site inspections and compliance assessments to ensure roadworks met engineering and contractual specifications.

• Programme and Risk Management Support – Evaluated project scheduling risks, proposed mitigation strategies, and provided advisory services to maintain project timelines.
